Where do I apply?

This position is 100% remote.

What might disqualify someone from consideration?

Not meeting minimum instructional and IEP requirements or lacking tech competencies may disqualify candidates.

Do you have to reside in the state in which you case manage?

No, you do not have to reside in the state in which you teach.

Availability Requirements

What are the availability requirements for Case Managers?

Case managers are required to be available for a block of 6 hours Mon.-Fri. between 7:00 am & 4:00 pm CST  to conduct meetings with parents, students, and stakeholders. While case management can also take place outside of regular business hours, case managers must adhere to deadlines and accurately log their hours

 

Certification Questions

Can I apply if my license is in process?

Yes, once you have completed all the requirements for obtaining your license, you may apply for the position and submit your license as soon as you receive it. However, please note that PLI cannot proceed with your hiring until your license has been officially awarded

Will Proximity pay for me to get certified in other states?

Yes, if Proximity needs teachers in a state where we lack sufficient certified teachers, you may be asked to apply for reciprocity. Proximity will reimburse any expenses associated with the process.

Do I have to have a teaching certification to work at Proximity?

Yes, you have to have a teaching certification to work at Proximity Learning.

Does it matter what state issued your certifications?

No, as long as your certification is valid and you currently have an active U.S. teaching license.

 

Technical Requirements

What software will case managers use to manage their cases?

Case managers will utilize the software provided by the school to effectively manage their cases.

What are the technology requirements for PLI online teaching?

  • Laptop or Desktop (RAM: 8 GB+)
    • Windows: Version 10 or 11
    • Mac: 2019 or newer, macOS 10.14+
    • No Chromebooks
  • 2 monitors. (CPU + additional monitors)
  • Reliable Internet (50 Mbps minimum download speed)

 

Training

How can I prepare for training?

  • Read over the VTA 1-Pager
  • Ensure Technology is Working Properly
    • Make sure all your devices and internet connection are functioning well.
    • Be prepared to troubleshoot common technical issues.
    • Come to training with 2 monitors. (CPU + additional monitors)
  • Create a Distraction Free Environment
    • Set up a quiet space free from interruptions to focus on your training.
  • Familiarize Yourself with the following platforms and tools
    • Learn to use platforms like Nearpod, Zoom, Canvas (free versions available)
    • Google Drive
  • Brush up on basic tech competencies
