ASL Virtual Teacher Training (VTA) Schedule

Welcome to Proximity Learning’s Virtual Teacher Academy Program. 

 

We are excited to support you as you prepare for teaching. You are not required to attend live training sessions on Monday of your training week, but we will offer daily opportunities for live support, You will need to schedule a live meeting on Thursday of your training week with our ASL department chair, Linnae Janky, and we will offer daily office hours for your to receive hands-onsupport, which we will detail below.

Training Schedule

Please start your asynchronous training tasks as early as possible, starting with your VTA Day 1 Account Set-Up Assignment. Daily VTA course assignments take approximately 2–3 hours to complete, totaling 8–12 hours overall. We strongly recommend starting right away!

Our ASL department chair, Linnae Janky will follow up with more details and meeting links for your live training sessions on Thursday and Friday. Please remain attentive for emails coming into your @poxlearn.com email for important updates.

All Asynchronous courses and Teacher Tasks are due by 8:00 AM Central Time

  • You may be asked to submit a 10-minute demo lesson by 10 AM Central Time on Friday.
  • If required, you will receive detailed instructions via your PLI email by the end of Day 2 of your training week. Be sure to check your inbox.

To view many of our resources and platforms, you must first sign in to your web browser through your PLI Google account.
