The Inbox in Canvas is a messaging tool that facilitates communication within your course. You can use it to send messages to a course, group, individual student, or group of students.
Key Features:
- Send Messages: Communicate with individuals or groups in your course.
- Reply to Messages: Respond to messages from others in your course.
- Filter Conversations: Organize your Inbox by course or message type.
- View Submission Comments: Check and reply to assignment submission comments.
- Self-Messaging: Send a message to yourself, which will appear in your Sent folder.
Important Notes:
- Notification Settings: You can adjust notifications to receive messages through external channels.
- Enrollment Requirement: Users must have an active enrollment in the course to appear in the Inbox. A course must be published for users to join.
- Course Conclusion: Messaging students is not possible once a course has concluded and its term date has passed.
