Canvas Login Not Working

There are a few things that may be keeping you from logging in. The best thing to do is check what message you get when it doesn't let you in.

  • Check the message you are receiving when you are unable to log in
    • "Invalid Username or password" - If you see this while trying to log into Canvas, either your username or password is wrong.
      • Check the login credentials that your school sent you and make sure to type everything exactly the same.

**If you are a student, your facilitator can check your username and password in Connect under "student management". Students will NOT be able to log into Connect.

**If you are a facilitator or district user, you should have received an email to set up your account. Please check your spam folder. If you cannot find this email, please escalate to a help ticket so we can resend your account set up email.

    • Login credentials should look like this:

      Canvas:  https://proximity.instructure.com/login/canvas

      Username:

      Password:

  • Check to see that you are in the right place with your login attempt:
    • Something else to note is that you need to make sure you're trying to log into PLI's Canvas site
    • Many other schools have Canvas but your login credentials only for for the PLI Canvas site).  If you see something other than "Proximity Learning" on the page, or something other than "https://proximity.instructure.com/login/canvas["](https://proximity.instructure.com/login/canvas%22) in the URL bar, then you will not be able to log in.

  • Go back to the credentials provided to you. Click on the [web link for Proximity Canvas](https://proximity.instructure.com/login/canvas).

    • When that opens, copy and paste your login/username -make sure there are no accidental spaces in front or behind when you highlight. It's very easy to pick up and extra space and the login will read that as an important value so if it doesn't match, it'll block your entry.
    • Then to the same thing with your password. Be precise.

If all those steps still prevent your access, please escalate to a help ticket. When you do, please include your first and last namestudent ID, and the district you attend. That way, the situation can quickly and safely find your account and help you get logged in.
