To create an assignment, quiz, or page in Canvas, begin by selecting the Modules tab along the left-side navigation of the course.
From the list of modules select the module you would like to add to and click the + button.
A pop-up box will appear. To create a new activity, from the drop down menu, select the type of activity you wish to create (assignment, page, quiz).
You will see a list of previously created assignments, quizzes, or pages, and items you have imported. Since you are creating a new activity, select the create option.
This example shows how to create an assignment. However, the directions are the same for creating a quiz or page.
Provide the assignment name, chose whether you want to indent the new item in the module, then click the Add Item button.
The new assignment, quiz, or page will appear unpublished in the module that you added it to. You can then select it, to begin editing the activity.
When you are done editing your assignment, quiz, or page, select Save & Publish for students to be able to access the content or save it if you are not ready for students to have access.
