Teachers are required to formally request time off any time that they are unable to teach their live class at the contracted time.
Requesting time off does not mean that a sub will be provided. Review the Joint Success Plan found within the "More Details" area of your enrollments in PLI Connect. The Time Off Team will follow the outlined subbing policy for each of your classes.
Ensure that you have lesson plans posted in your Learning Management System (Canvas, Google Classroom, Schoology etc) that a sub or your classroom facilitator can reference.
Time Off requests must be created in PLI Connect. In addition, please notify your Pod as well, any time that you will not be teaching.
Time Off Requests placed with less than 24 hours notice require HR approval. Submit your request via Connect, and the Time Off team will follow up with you with next steps. Contacting your Pod (TLS, CSS) is not sufficient for time off requests.
- Log in to your PLI Connect Account.
-
On the home page select "Request Time Off".
3. Select the date(s) that you will not be teaching.
*If you are missing more than 3 consecutive days, you will not be able to submit your request through Connect. These requests require pre approval. Submit a ticket in the Help Center. The Time Off Team and HR, will follow up with you.
4. Select your each enrollment that you will not be teaching. Click Next.
5. Ensure the start and end times are correct for each class. If incorrect, please add that to the Notes section with the timezone.
6. Notes to the Team - This space is to let us know of any special circumstances or important information regarding your request (ie, you are requesting time off during the first or last 3 weeks of the school year, the class meets at a different time, students have not been logging in etc). Do not use this space for lesson plans.
7. Confirm that you have uploaded lesson plans in your classroom. Select a reason for your request. Click submit.
You can check that your request is in the system by selecting "Classes" -> "Time Off" -> "My Time Off Requests". You should also receive an automated system email upon submission and another email when a sub is assigned, if required.
