Pay Issues & Calculation Example

In general, pay is calculated by multiplying your hourly rate by the number of biweekly hours represented in your course setup. A/B courses are paid at the 3-day-per-week course rate. The hourly rate is represented on your paysheet under the pay rate column.

  • Login to Connect
  • Click "Payroll" on the lower left hand side
  • Ensure you are looking at the correct pay week in the upper right hand side.
  • Click the + sign next to the course you would like to see the rate for.
  • Calculate the number of hours you worked (see example below) by your rate for the course.

Example — if you are enrolled in a 5-day-per-week, 60-min course, your pay is calculated by: multiplying 5 (days per week) x 1 hr per day (60min) x 2 (weeks per pay period) = 10 (hrs per pay period) x hourly rate = gross pay.

Pay is determined by the number of days you work in the given pay period. Each pay period has 10 business days over two week periods (M-F). If your Start Pay Date or your End Pay Date fall in the middle of the pay period, your pay is prorated to cover only the days you worked for that period. The start and end dates can be seen on your paysheet as shown in the image above.

Example — the 6/20 pay period covers courses and subbing events from 6/1-6/14. If your end pay date for a course was Tuesday, 6/3, you would be paid for 2 out of the 10 business days of the pay period (because you did not work on that last half of the pay period 6/4, 6/5, 6/6, 6/9, 6/10, 6/11, 6/12, 6/13). Your pay would be prorated to 2/10 of the normal payment.

Course Information

If you believe your start pay date or end pay dates listed for your courses are incorrect please escalate your concern via a help ticket.

If your start pay date and end pay date are correct, but you are still being paid lower than you believe is accurate:

  • Please check the course type.

If it does not match your schedule, your pay will be off.

Example — if you teach a 5-day-per-week, 90-minute course but the course setup on your pay sheet shows a 5-day-per-week, 60-minute course, your pay will be lower than it should be. If this course setup is incorrect please escalate your concern via a help ticket.
